This is where God is sending us.

New Orleans has become infamous for its struggles with crime, inequality, and poverty:

  • Crime Rate: The city ranks in the 3rd percentile for safety, meaning 97% of U.S. cities are safer.

  • Homicide Rate: In 2022, New Orleans earned the title "Murder Capital of America" with 280 homicides, the highest in 26 years.

  • Income Inequality: New Orleans ranks fourth among large U.S. cities for income inequality, with a Gini Index of 0.5617.

  • Poverty Rate: The city has one of the highest poverty rates in the U.S., with 18.6% of residents living below the poverty line as of 2017.

They’re calling New Orleans “Gotham City without Batman.” It’s a fitting description of a city desperate for hope, crying out for justice. A place plagued by crime, corruption, and inequality. Safety leaks from its streets. Justice leaks from its systems. Peace and hope? They leak too.

But here’s the thing, Batman isn’t coming.

And it’s better that way.

Because New Orleans doesn’t need a masked vigilante. It needs light. It needs truth. It needs hope, and we know just where to find it.

Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14). We’re running toward the darkness, not away from it. This city doesn’t need Batman. It needs the transformative power of the gospel.

The gospel changes everything. It transforms lives, breaks chains, sets captives free, and heals the soul. One person, one family, one block, one neighborhood, one community, one city at a time. Jesus has the power to change this city and we’ve assigned to play our part.

The mission isn’t ours, it’s His. New Orleans cried out, and God answered. He’s sending us.

We know this won’t happen overnight, but we have faith to believe that overnight, everything can change. Our vision is to see hope restored in the hopeless. We want to create a place for the burned up, the burned out, and the forgotten.

We believe in the power of Christ’s love to soften the hearts of the resentful, bitter, and bruised. We see healing breaking out for the brokenhearted and the devastated. It’s slow, intentional work, one person and one moment at a time.

This is how cities like Rome were transformed and brought to their knee. We believe New Orleans is next.

New Orleans may be “Gotham City” today, but we believe it’s on the verge of becoming heaven on earth tomorrow. We see a day when the streets will shake with the praises of the King, when darkness will flee as people revere Jesus and His reign.

As the world continues to travel to New Orleans, Christ’s influence will reverberate across nations. The very soul of this city is founded in Christ, and we believe we’re being sent back to help reclaim its roots.

We see economic renewal coming to this city.
We see injustice uprooted and corruption dismantled.

We see restoration breaking out.
We see fathers for the fatherless.

We see hope rising again.

New Orleans doesn’t need Batman. It needs the Church. It needs the gospel of Jesus Christ. It needs what only God can do. This is our prayer. This is our mission. This is the vision God has given us.

New Orleans is about to sing a new song and it sounds like revival. This is where we’re going. This is what we’re believing for. In Jesus name, amen.
